Hello

I am still quite sickly today and wanted to lay down, but surprisingly, had a very productive work day! - and now before I go sleep, I’m going to write this post. I’m actually quite glum today but writing a post always makes me feel a little better

Yesterday, I woke up and went about hiding in my room, when my manz came over with Valentine’s flowers! I was so surprised! It’s actually the first flowers I ever got for the holiday, and means quite a lot to me To be honest, I have really mixed feelings about commercialisation of holiday events, and typically dislike it a lot, but… it was really nice to be thought of even during a time where it’s annoyingly expensive to buy flowers

I bought my manz some chocolate too but I didn’t expect him to give me flowers so early so I had to pick up the chocolate from my mailbox where they were hangin’ for a day or so Thankfully I forgot my medication lol so we had to go pick it up, and I could pick up the chocolate

Ahh, since I was still quite sickly yesterday, I didn’t really want to get dressed But I just went with this easy sweater / skirt / boots combo (looks quite similar to the day before’s outfit, hehe) which was super comfy

It’s nice since it’s not too hot yet not too cold during the day now, so I can wear these tops without needing a jacket

For our early Valentine’s celebrations, we decided to try the hyped Nep Cafe Hehe… I was supposed to make a reservation, but forgot for many days in a row, and finally my manz made one day-of (lol). Though, since it was a random weekend then I don’t think it was going to have issues being full

We ordered the seafood ceviche appetizer, and I got the matcha cloud latte after asking for a recommended matcha drink out of their several. The waitress said this one is for matcha lovers, so I ordered it And it’s very tasty!

The ceviche was also super yummy and had great flavour! I think my manz liked it so much, he basically ate it all lol (I ate 3 pieces because I am slow) It comes with shrimp chips and you can ask for more, complimentery

Their non-meat/non-dairy offerings are quite slim, so I ordered this lemongrass tofu dish (comes with sticky rice). It was super flavourful and filling! I really enjoyed eating it

Overall, I think the portions are quite small but the food is rich and very filling. However… I don’t know if it’s related, but my manz got super bad food poisoning (?) later LOL… we’re not sure if it was due to the egg coffee he ordered (he said it was delicious, though) or the ceviche (doubtful because I also had some, but I barely ate it) Anyway, he had quite the time before finally becoming jolly and well again around 10pm, from then which he immediately started cooking a late dinner

I asked if he would consider going again, and he said yes, but probably not order the egg coffee After all, the food itself was really tasty!

The flowers opened up a bit more later in the day

We watched a bit more of Severance (or rather, my manz did, while I dozed off) - which I’ve only seen snippets of (again, due to my dozing off). I love the intro to it, my favourite is the balloon mans If you have not seen the intro please take a look because it brings great joy!

Oh, this is unrelated to our festivities, but I did not capture this photo of A’s Levain cookies he got for us from the day before - but here it is in its full cookie appearance!

Saturday

Hello

We went out today with K and A I got sick since Thursday, so I was worried I would be too under the weather to go, but I’m really happy I went!

Unfortunately I realised I didn’t take a picture of our main event and reason of going (aside from seeing great friends ), the East Fork seconds sale in San Diego! My manz picked up his first ever artisan kitchen piece - not too bachelor looking…

Though we waited a little bit for the line, it wasn’t too bad, and ended up super fun to look around! So many people went! I overheard that someone even drove down from San Francisco for this sale Doesn’t it seem nice to like something a lot?

One of the fun things was also seeing what our buddies bought I think shopping is more fun when you get to share a fun experience with good company who also enjoys this interest

I’ll share you a photo of what we got when I’m not tucked into bed

Earlier in the week, I redid my nails since we’re celebrating Valentine’s festivities early (skipping the long waits). I tried this lace-ish design to keep it simple

I’ve been really lazy doing designs lately, which is okay I guess - simple doesn’t mean bad - but since I haven’t been feeling up to anything, I thought trying to make something prettier would be a much-needed extra touch of self-care

Finally, I’m trying out the popular Jello Jello One Kill Remover gel base - hopefully this will help me with easier removal since I can’t really do acetone soak (due to my eczema burn) We’ll see how it works for me!

I thought MA*RS would be a cute and simple outfit today The only issue is that the skirt seems designed for wearing with the attached suspenders, so it fits a ton looser than their other skirts! I’m hoping to sew a fix for it since I really like the design and easy-wear

Anyway, this is probably just one of those outfit patterns I like to wear a lot - sweater/knit top, skirt, boots Comfy and simple… nappable outfit.

After East Fork, we joined K and A for lunch at Hatsuzakura - a cute little kissaten (coffeeshop/tearoom/cafe) Oh my gosh, it’s so cute, I don’t know how I forgot to take a photo of the interior. But I guess that means we need to go back again to take a photo

Definitely a lovely place to go to for a relaxing time with friends & good food and sweet drinks! You know, I find it quite rare to have all those together at a place that feels like a cafe…

We ordered lots of yummies! For me, I really wanted a drink (hehe even though I had a mexican mocha latte earlier while in line for East Fork sale… lol) so I chose their earl grey milk tea It’s quite sweet and has a very strong lavender flavour - a bit too much for my manz, but I absolutely loved it (I do love a drink that tastes like perfume though)

I also got this curry that they were able to accomodate a vegetarian version for I think it’s the best vegetarian curry I’ve had - extremely flavourful without being salty, and just a touch of sweetness & spiciness… Even the pickly red boys were good, and I am not normally a pickle-type enjoyer…

We also shared this big strawberry shaved ice It was so cute and round! I liked it a lot since it was not too sweet, but I didn’t eat too much of it because I was a bit too full lol. It definitely was enjoyed by our table, though!

I hope you, too, had a wonderful day
