March Tea Party

We had our monthly tea party today The theme was March into Spring for the seasonal shift happening in the northern hemisphere I feel like I haven’t been to one in a while for some reason, so it was so nice to catch up!

♡ Setup, Hairclip: Liz Lisa ♡
♡ Bag: idang club ♡
♡ Shoes: GRL ♡

I was so tempted to try out this setup again to see if my skin was acting okay today, and thankfully it is!!! No itchiness today! I really love this print and cut so much - probably one of my favourite dresses from Liz Lisa. So I’m going to try to wear it as much as my sensitive skin allows It was perfect for today’s weather

Kind of wanted a bit more of a casual look for today, so instead of wearing full himekaji I paired it with softer waves, idang bag, and low-heeled ribbon shoes. I like how it turned out even though the dress isn’t originally matched with silver finishings but I feel like it still looks cute

As for these shoes, they literally arrived during the tea party lol, I shipped ECMS so I thought it’d take at least another week to arrive but it really zoomed here! It’s so cute, though as with GRL shoes they’re not the most comfortable, so I think I’ll need to add a bit of insole to it but I’m very happy with the design

Later, I didn’t take photos but I added a few silver accessories too.

I used some of the new products that I got in Japan! Even though I don’t really like to open everything at once… I realized I really should try them before I lose interest in them after waiting for too long In this way, I still found that I was very excited to try them out!

Okay, so I know that after the lighting, editing, and filtering, the photo totally doesn’t show anything useful But I’ll still share my impressions here since they’re useful to me!

hince True Dimension Radiance Balm (Clear) - this is so pretty. It’s a dewy highlighter that doesn’t have sparkles, so it looks like you have a softened halo effect on your face I specifically looked for this to get during my trip and I’m SO happy I really like the effect! I don’t have any product like this so it’s different for my usual I’ve always been a little hesitant to use dewy-style effects since I have oily skin, but since I have a pretty mattifying powder, I thought this might be fun to try

hince True Dimension Layering Cheek (Dreamlike) - a lavender & ice pink duo blush. It’s very hard to show up in photos because it’s subtle, but I actually think I love this so much it’s immediately become one of my top favourite blushes. It applies smoothly and is just so pretty I feel like I can finally end my search for both lavender blushes and ice pink blushes

Clio Crystal Glam Tint (Soft Pink) - this applied on darker than I expected! I originally used the romand Peony Ballet tint that’s a much more softer pink but reapplied with this later and I kind of like this combination with this outfit for today more. It’s very vibrant and cheerful, like forward-looking to spring

CipiCipi Glass Plumper (Hachimitsu Pink) - I am not really one for a plump lip look lol but I think most of the time they don’t really do anything but act as gloss for me. This one is a really pretty subtle pink, so it cooled down the Clio tint a bit and made it a bit “sweeter”! Fitting for hachimitsu (honey), right?

Dinty Eyelashes (No. 204 On Party) - Finally, a new eyelash brand with LONG WIDTH eyelashes!!! It’s been so long since my favourite was discontinued… so, I think these apply easily and wear very lightweight and are super cute They just don’t quite hit as my favourite because I think somehow they feel even more delicate than other similarly styled eyelashes, so I don’t think they’ll last many uses Still, I like them a lot, and might repurchase next time in Japan

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation - I tried this with a different application technique that I saw is very popular in Korea - mixing with a drop of essence, and applying your foundation as thinner, “wetter” layers. I usually try to apply my foundation as thinner layers anyway but this makes it so much easier! I have to try this foundation for a little longer in different weather conditions to make a fuller impression, but so far I really like it - it leaves such a pretty finish It feels like my lightest foundation out of the ones I own, which I prefer more now! If it doesn’t break me out with continued use I think this is going to be my favourite foundation

These were my drink & snacks for the tea party Iced matcha with acai & strawberries, and matcha cinnabon protein sumikkos (less radioactive looking)

I tried a different drink recipe, but since I was running late it just ended up tasting like watered-down matcha lol… and I forgot to add the strawberries after the ice cubes and instead reversed the order, so my strawberries ended up being hidden Anyway, it wasn’t a terrible drink, but I’d feel bad if I served it to someone else hehe

Today was also our dessert treat day, so I picked Hui Lau Shan as a place I’ve always wanted to try but haven’t gotten to yet It’s a Hong Kong style mango dessert shop

We gpt the “Mango Chewy Ball” option as I tried my best to decide quickly before the store closed for the night since we got there a bit late after our evening walk got distracted by a detour for apple-buying

First, I love that it’s not too sweet overall! The mangoes themselves are very sweet with a bit of natural fruit tartness (mangoes are not in season right now, so it’s incredible they taste so good ), and don’t taste weirdly artifical or oversweetened. The chewy fellas reminded me of tong sui dessert with a similar glutinous rice ball

I enjoyed it a lot, but most of all I liked having a little time in the evening together before my manz goes off to his next rock trip tomorrow!

Lastly, just a few more food shares because honestly, right now I’m super obsessed with food - particularly fruit that I had so little of during my trip.

This is matcha chai made from a premade mix from uRn.chAi&TeA EBISU that I added strawberries to. Okay, when I first opened the bag, it smells like… weed. LOL but it doesn’t taste like it at all!!

It’s actually so tasty, though the chai is a lot stronger than the matcha - I think if I were to choose a drink mix to take home again, I probably should’ve just chosen one of their other chai mixes Still, it’s quite a unique drink option in our pantry now!

These look like freakishly underripe strawberries, but they’re the (infamous…?) pineberries from Trader Joe’s. I heard they’re quite hit or miss in terms of flavour, so I only bought them for fun since I was able to smell a strong and sweet strawberry fragrance from the box at the store

They are quite fun and this batch I bought taste sweet and flavourful, but I think I’ll return to regular strawberries after this! They scare me a little for looking so underripe…

February Tea Party

We had our February tea party today The theme was to match your tea/dishware I loved our little turnout!! We had such a fun time catching up; chatting about cute things, travel plans, and blogging; and sharing recent adorable photos.

It felt like a while since we had our last tea party, so of course I enjoyed it a lot

♡ Top, Skirt, Bows: Liz Lisa ♡
♡ Shoes: Evelyn ♡

I put together this simple sweater & skirt (of course) outfit to match my bunny Shirokuma dishware. Today, I had a bunch of errands to do so something easy to run around in and Do Boring Things was suitable. The skirt is Love Letter Rabbit (I don’t know the official name of the print) which is one of my favourite prints, but I don’t wear this skirt as much since I think it is a little long on me So, it was nice to pull it out for a spin!

Of course, I had Levain cookies as my snack!

In the afternoon, I got groceries at Trader Joe’s and decided on their kimbap as a fun new-to-try. I’ve wanted to try it for a long time, but we are close to an Hmart, so the thought was that I can just pick up an authentic kimbap instead if I wanted some But, I saw that a lot of Koreans enjoy this a lot too (it’s a very popular item overall as well) so why not try it once?

The flavour is a lot milder than kimbap (of course, I’m not an expert in kimbap lol) for the pickled additions, but I quite like it a lot! I’m happy I got to try it!
