thursday

Hello!! It has been some time since I last wrote

Not too “much” has been going on, yet it feels like a lot has been going on (such is life… ), and I missed writing on my blog so I’m back to share a few older things! And yes… I am still working on my Japan trip posts… and my anniversary weekend one… eventually!

Just a light and small post for today, since I stayed up to 4am yesterday (thanks hyperfocus), I need to rest up early today!

I bought a few cute things over a while back

The white camisole dress + t-shirt set is from evelyn, and I’ve wanted it for a long time, so I was so happy when it popped up for cheap. I think it will be really nice to have both pieces for summer

The Liz Lisa setup I’ve also wanted for YEARS, so I was sooo happy when it finally popped up for a reasonable price, too! I feel like it doesn’t really look like typical Liz Lisa and it doesn’t appear that often, so finally I was able to snag it

I actually tried to buy two other listings of this evelyn top (at separate times) but my purchases all kept getting cancelled for some reason lol, but I got lucky with this one being around $10 and finally going through I paired it a few times with different skirts as it’s very lightweight and cute even if you wear a jacket or cardigan And a few pairs of new socks for summer

You can tell these were pre-tariff change buys because of how random the items are lol, but I really love glass cups so I picked up this Starbucks 2023 Japan design one since I’ve been making a lot of iced matcha lattes or electroyte drinks

The two Le Creuset cocottes are, for some reason, like $70+ over here but around $20 from Japan so I picked them up to make small portioned snacks as I don’t have any similar cocottes

Meanwhile, I’ve been continuing to convert some of my plushies into keychains or add decorations to them I find this a really fun and relaxing activity, and looks super cute when you attach them to purses I also get a use for all the random craft materials I’ve amassed over the years…

♡ Sweater: Honey Cinnamon ♡
♡ Shoes: Lodispotto ♡

Recently I wore my furoshiki sweater with my shirokuma bag and felt very matched

And yes, I finally got the Lodispotto pink platform loafers I wanted forever!!! I ended up getting 2 different syles of it since both were cheap, but this pair (I kind of feel ilke it fits my closet more) is actually size L, so I need to put in some insoles

For Mother’s Day, we went to Openaire in Koreatown (LA)

Every year, my cousin plans it with a few of the girls in the family so it’s just like a women & girls day (meal) out. This time, we went with brunch!

I ordered the spinach & tomato eggs-benedict, though the other food offerings looked quite pretty as well. Of course, the aunties in the group had to take so many photos the avocado toast was soggy and the food was cold by the time we started eating but alas

Afterwards, since I was already in LA, I decided to visit my buddy A and it was COOKIE TIME

Of all the cookie flavours, I really liked the seasonal lemon flavoured one best this time! My favourites change with mood, of course (all of them are tasty)

Got to peek at this joyful fresh oatly delivery

♡ Dress, Shoes: Liz Lisa ♡
♡ Headband: offbrand ♡

Wore my new Creamy Strawberry onepiece since it felt very summer-heat appropriate It’s extremely comfy though the fabric feels a little heavier and thicker than I’d expect for an spring/summer print.

I’m really happy I picked the OP from this release as it has such adorable details I normally don’t pick up onepieces from LL anymore since they’re quite long for my height, but I think with this design, the slightly longer length makes it quite cute

Anyway, I hope you are doing well I’ll leave you off with a bit of a photo spam when Didi and I managed to coop together in Nikki. It made me so happy

Marlene's Tea & Cakes

Somehow, another year has passed with my manz so we planned our celebration in Oceanside!

We went to Marlene’s Tea & Cakes I thought a nice afternoon tea experience would be pleasant and really nice if we could sit outside.

My manz had never been to afternoon tea before, so it was his first time trying it There’s quite a few options in San Diego, but they’re harder to book, so I chose this one!

There was this huge chair with a super pretty flower wall! I love the look, but I can’t help but think about how much dust must be on it

For my outfit, I picked something springful

♡ Setup: Liz Lisa Plume Rose
♡ Hair clips: MA*RS ♡
♡ Tights: Misako x Shimamura ♡
♡ Bag: idang club ♡
♡ Shoes: Evelyn ♡

The Liz Lisa setup is new, but I’m so happy that it matches my closet so easily that I already feel like I can wear it a lot Basically, I’ve matched it with all my favourite/often-worn items here!

Unrelated, but I’ve been thinking of trying some circle lens that aren’t so huge. It’s just that the big sized ones haven’t been in trend for many years so basically all the styles I love have been discontinued over the years I’m just so used to this size though…

Marlene’s is in this cute little plaza that has super easy and free parking!

We accidentally went through the wrong entrance to the plaza, but the waitress spotted us and probably could recognize I was dressed up for tea She brought us over to our table & brought out the tea we selected when making the reservation!

Lady Londonberry Lightly and elegantly flavored with strawberry, lemon balm leaves, Calendula and Sunflower petals.

Earl Grey Supreme For the connoisseur who loves Bergamot and fine tea, this is a higher grade of tea, with the addition of Silver Tips.

Somehow, I didn’t take a photo of both teapots? But there was a floral one that was so cute and pretty, now I want a big floral teapot too

They served us a corn soup (not pictured but it was actually so delicious!!) and after a bit, got us our tower By this time, both of us were quite hungry as the drive down took a while so we were excited to eat haha

We started with the lowest layer, which had cucumber sandwiches, a pineapple & cheese pastry (a new combo for me!?) + chicken pastry for the manz, egg quiche, and… I think I had another egg sandwhich while the mans got a beef one!

Both of us agreed that the white chocolate raspberry scone was the best of all of them!! I’m salivating a bit thinking about it You can read on their yelp/google reviews that people LOVE their scones - moist and very flavourful, buttery, and perfect texture

Purple grapes like this texture kind of freak me out (the texture reminds me of flesh), so I gave them to my manz I didn’t try the creamy dip but apparently it was tasty with the scone!

Finally, on the top layer: chocolate mousse, strawberry macaron, tiramisu, custard cream boy. I was still enjoying everything a lot, but by this time the mans was very oversugared since he’s not really someone who eats that much sweets typically I really enjoyed the mousse & reminded me that I used to enjoy making it as a dessert!

It was so fun to try together It’s been quite a long time since I went to afternoon tea since it’s usually quite pricey and feels formal, but I’m happy that my manz indulged me in this girly enjoyment even if he knew he would probably get oversugared

Enjoying our time here as a start to our anniversary celebrations really made me think again about prettifying our daily food & getting back into making desserts, which I haven’t done since i have the equivalent of a brown thumb (like for plants) but for baking

Seeing all the cute plates reminded me of when I looooved thrifting cute teawares during and after college, but I stopped at some point since my family didn’t take care of them well so they would get scratched up or broken even with not too much use But, I’m inspired to think about even free/low-budget ways to put some cuteness into our food
