For my manz birthday, we went to Ohshima in Orange, an omakase that was recommended to me by two friends who have excellent sushi taste

It was actually so, so tasty and price-wise pretty good, though typically omakase is quite pricey, I think this place has great value

We got the 10-pc set which was about $67 per person, though they charge for tea and I have a bit of suspicion the tip was calculated including the tax. Regardless… I’d go there again as a treat, all the pieces of fish were extremely fresh and really large (I was almost too full) some of the pieces were so fatty, I was overly fished for about a week afterwards I’d share what fish we got here but I lost my notes somehow…

Actually, a sneaky favourite was the appetizer ceviche It was really delicious, I couldn’t help but eat it very slowly to savour it!

When I saw the new Mind Wave die cut washi tapes including the obake and garland washi, I couldn’t help but put in an order at one of the few shops that had both in stock. I also picked up a few other designs: the pretend-layering plaid tapes is a secret trick to easy deco without much effort, and some other designs

I was especially happy about the BGM pink/silver jellyfish tape, I tend not to buy a lot of BGM tape because while I think they’re pretty they kind of blend together to me, but this one stood out a lot to me since I love pink and grey

Also, I picked up some Furukawa memos because I couldn’t resist the meringue birds and toast cats I always love designs that are a little whimsical!

For the shop Meowashi, I had never bought from them before, but they looked reputable enough. I placed my order on Oct 4th, it shipped on the 6th, and arrived on the 11th. Overall happy and satisfied (they also included many cute freebies)!

Later in the month, we tried Maji Curry and a new “Bretman Rock’s DA FRUITY SALAD” flavour (from part of their Filipino American History Month) at Wanderlust Creamery.

I think the Maji Curry must have used a meat base because I was so fatigued after eating it that we couldn’t take our regular evening walk Though, it was actually quite a delicious curry, it tastes sweeter than I am used to. I don’t think I will eat it again as there are good curry options nearby that don’t have the exhaustion effect on me, but I’m really glad we tried it

The Wanderlust was as tasty as usual, though this isn’t one of my favourite flavours, I’m happy we tried it as well! Doesn’t it look cute? It’s so colourful!
