April Tea Party

4.25.2021

Hello

We had our April tea party for the Himekaji girls

This month’s party totally snuck up on everyone! I totally arrived late to the party I was hosting thanks to grabbing the wrong earring colourway at first. Anyway, it was a small little group that joined this time with Reila and Lizzie joining in a little later, it made me so happy to see them too! Everyone is so sweet, it was sort of cosier knit than the bigger ones we had before and though each party has been lovely I think this was just the right size/level of energy for me this week as I had been especially low energy T_T.

The tea party was Fairytale Forest themed and the prompt was either to share about your favourite fairy tale or your favourite mascot characters. I tried to make it easy to answer for people who are not into fairy tales but in retrospect I think that not everyone likes mascot characters too! (haha) I got nervous doing my intro and jumped straight into how much I adore shirokuma and furoshiki but after thinking over it a bit, well, I don’t really know that many fairy tales. It’s kind of dark but I’m drawn to The Little Match Girl which I have something personal about so it’s kind of dear to me despite it being really tragic. ANYWAY, non-heavy fairy tales aside, I imagined this tea party to be cute, whimsical, and lit by little beams of light

For the rest of the day we hung out on chat while Sarah finished up the apron of her dress, and I had a particularly thoughtful conversation about horror which made me very happy also very classically me, I took a half-doze mid-call to recharge up my social battery before trying to get the XP-PEN my brother handed down to me to work (it did not end up working). It was such a fun day!

Outfit:

♡ Dress: Ank Rouge ♡
♡ Cardigan: An Mille ♡
♡ Top: Evelyn ♡
♡ Hairbows, Earrings: Liz Lisa ♡
♡ Shoes: Jill by Jill Stuart ♡

I really, really like how this outfit came out! Though I totally had to rush the hair in around 15 minutes and my hairbows were crooked for the entire tea party (hah) I’m glad it turned out okay. The outfit itself was incredibly comfortable!!

At first I wasn’t super sure if this was “himekaji” enough for a himekaji tea party but I was reassured by the others (sooo sweet) ;; I borrowed this inner lace tank + strap top/dress from evelyn’s styling. I used to own a lace inner tank like this from evelyn but sold it (I think… or lost it maybe ), I ended up snagging this one from CC for super cheap and it seems like it fits a lot more comfortably!? Anyway, I will totally be wearing this outfit more often ‘cause it’s very very comfy…
